Social Flow: FriendFeed 101: Why You’ve Gotten All Those Follows Lately

So why ALL of a SUDDEN? Friendfeed has been around, heck I'm not a major geek and I've been using it for months. The ability to broadcast Twitter/Stumble etc. has been a characteristic of FFeed ever since I started. So, why now? Is it because too many people are using Twitter and some folks are trying to "get ahead of the crowd?" Scoble has been praising FFeed for a very long time so unless there's another "thought-leader" who has promoted this recently, I don't get it still..

@Myrna: Thanks for visiting Social Flow, first of all. I believe 2 unrelated things that happened within the last week are contributing to the flood of friending that's going on.
1. Within the last week, FriendFeed launched the ability to login with your existing Twitter, Facebook, or Gmail ID and Password. (see above). So, if someone is following you on Twitter, and they sign in to FF, they can automatically find their 'Tweetpeeps" who are also on FriendFeed and "friend" them there as well. Hence the onslaught.
2. Towards the end of this week, Twitter decided to start "dropping" @ reply comments, which prompted what I've called the "FriendFeed Revolution"- people getting frustrated and switching to FriendFeed.
